Burdwise / Uliket 1/20/2012 3:50:30 PM |
Most commonly known as the Burdwise pick, this is one of the more sought after picks due to its unique design and appearance in Hoover's book. However, it wasn't named Burdwise in any of the old catalogs! Patented in 1918, it didn't make its catalog debut until the 1930 Continental issue listed it as #838 and described it as "wire spring grip - patented". In the Targ & Diner catalog of 1934, it was numbered 3520 "wire-ring". In the 1937 Grossman and later catalogs it was listed as #125 and called a "Uliket" pick. Pick on right is stamped "ULIKET PAT". |
